Joyous Sunlight
Walking through an alleyway,
Everything's shadowed in darkness.
But I look to where the street opens up, and see,
Everything's flooded in light.
The light looks so happy,
Could I catch it,
Pull it in to my arms?
But I dismiss the thought,
Let the light go free,
And allow it to happily shine down.
Winter's departure
Seeing trees turning green,
Feeling the warmth in the air,
Watching geese flying north and knowing that, finally
The world has decided spring is here!
Winter twilight
Approaching the school through the ethereal winter
The chill settles around me,
Turns my breath white in the air.
The sun's just rising over the horizon,
Breaking through the sky,
It's the moment when day shatters the dark.
The snow crunches under my footsteps
As i walk up to the doors
And i step off the grass, onto concrete sidewalk.
I pull the doors open, walk in
Feel the warm air woosh around me
Enter a less fantastical, more mundane world.

The end and the beginning
The end and the beginning
A flush of color blooming over the horizon,
Seagulls flying to their nests,
The air growing slowly colder,
The moon rising from its sleep,
At the end of day.
The moon shining like a beacon,
Waiting till the dawn,
Proclaming light in the darkness,
Along with stars, tiny sparks of hope.

The dragon and the plane
The dragon and the plane
A dragon was flying in the sky
When suddenly, an airplane passed him by.
For a few minutes, he just stared in shock,
Then ran home to call a meeting of dragons and warlocks.
When he broke the news, they were all angered
Dragon and rider alike, their pride was splintered.
For many hours they debated what to do,
And it was chaos, through and through.
Then a new dragon popped her head in and spoke,
"This sounds like fun! Why not just take it as a joke?
One dragon, one airplane, make it a contest,
Whichever's the fastest is the best!"
There was a pause, then the head dragon stood to say
"One dragon, one airplane-We ra
Takeoff
The plane is humming,
The lights go dim,
My ears pop as we prepare for liftoff.
Finally, we begin to move,
Slowly at first, but getting faster.
Then suddenly, the ground is gone,
The trees are tiny,
My stomach is a mile away.
I see an island, the size of my hand,
And a jetboat skimming through the waves.
And i see the ocean, extending to the horizon,
Forevermore.
Sundown
Watching the sun setting behind the mountains,
Feeling the chill in the air,
Watching birds flying back to their nests,
Watching the end of day.
Spring is coming
Gazing through the misty veil,
The silky screen of rain.
I feel the wind bush my arm,
Whispering secrets of warm weather
On the way.
I listen to the trill of an eagle's call,
I see the birds overhead,
I listen to all the world around me, speaking
Of the coming spring.
Sky on fire
The sky's on fire,
All the light's being burned away,
The flames growing,
Rising up the sky,
Until they cover the world.
It's a dark kind of fire,
Coming as the world turns black,
The sky grows steadily darker
As it burns.
Shyly snowflake
A little bundle of anxious fluff,
Always holding back.
One blue, one yellow-
Startling against the pure white
Of a cloud come down to earth.

Forgive me
for opening your eyes to the truth
[ because ignorance is always bliss ]
Forgive me
for casting upon you the curse known as honesty
[ let it be known that our champion fears the truth ]
Forgive me
for revealing to you what I've always seen
[ and hear in my words the sincerity of the dreamer who lives in her fantasies ]
Rainbow
I gaze up into the endless blue,
Feel the drizzle on my arm,
I glance over the narrows, and-
Glorious, and not quite there, a rainbow.
If I chase it, track it down, what will I find?
A pathway, a ladder into the sky?
I tear myself back to reality and leave,
But glance back, and-
The beautiful, half-seen mystery
Is gone.

A friend was asking for help designing a game... And that is how i ended up teaching myself how to pixel art. Good thing there's so many tutorials on dA, like this one http://vanmall.deviantart.com/art/How-to-start-with-pixel-art-121520884 I MADE A BOX. I feel so accomplished.
So, i just joined! I spent about three hours uploading my huge stack of poetry, looked at some other people's stuff, and made a couple of really dumb mistakes!
*Has no clue how journals are supposed to be used*
